ABOUT CHARLESTON INSIGHTS
Whether coming for pleasure or considering purchasing property, Charleston Insights provides the introduction you need to get to know Charleston. Once you arrive and begin to tour this city, it will be tempting to focus solely on Charleston's beauty - especially now that America's oldest historic district and nearby colonial era plantations have been restored to their pre-Civil War splendor. However, Charleston's outward beauty is just part of its unique charm.
For a deeper sense of what makes Charleston charming, you will also need to look into this city's inner beauty, including its genteel approach to life. With a B.A. in British Civilization, your guide can lead you to the source of what makes Charleston special by examining this city's richly interwoven social fabric and culture. Beyond sightseeing, you will be shown how Charleston's 17th-century Enlightenment, English aristocratic, and Gullah cultural roots have shaped and distinguished this city for over 350 years.
By viewing Charleston's distinctive Anglo-Caribbean architecture, landscaped gardens, and gracious lifestyle in this light, you will gain greater insight into this city - and see why leading travel publications have become so enamored with Charleston ever since the city's recent rebirth that it has been voted each year since 2011 as Best City USA!
